Nestled in The Ballroom above Middle Island Medical Clinic at 43 Fairy St, Warrnambool, Great Ocean Yoga offers a tranquil space dedicated to helping you reconnect with Self. Our inviting sanctuary welcomes you to pause, breathe, and discover a deeper sense of balance and harmony in your life.

Our classes—Hatha and Restorative yoga—are designed for all skill levels, supporting both beginners and seasoned practitioners. Each session provides thoughtful guidance and a nurturing, non-judgmental atmosphere, encouraging growth, healing, and self-discovery.

Peta Jolley

Peta’s lifelong curiosity for health, wellness, the transformative process, and spirituality began early in her youth. She was lovingly introduced to yoga at age five by her primary school teacher in the 1970s, igniting a spark that would later flourish into a dedicated practice.

Since 2002, Peta has held space for people of all ages, guiding her students through Hatha and restorative classes. Her teaching is deeply enriched by studying with master teachers both in Australia and abroad, drawing inspiration especially from Lorraine Bell, Simon Borg-Olivier, David Burgess, and John Weddepohl.

Peta’s classes are woven with compassion, ancient wisdom, and practical tools—blending asana, pranayama, meditation, and philosophy in ways that are accessible and meaningful for everyday life, helping each person feel supported on their own unique journey.

Hatha Yoga

Hatha yoga is an introspective practice that reaches every part of you. As you unroll your yoga mat, the environment instantly becomes a sanctuary for some ME time. You find your body connected to the floor, aware of your surroundings you close your eyes and feel into your breath. Your yoga is a practice of self-discovery, discipline, and awe. You find yourself becoming more aware of how you live as you reflect on how you get into, sit in, and come out of each pose. Each deliberate movement offers a meditation if you’re willing, or a chance for connection to the present moment. Busy thoughts no longer have the right of way, the focus attends to the body's alignment and the breath's rhythm. It is a practice that nurtures self-awareness, creating a space for introspection and self-acceptance.

Restorative Yoga

Experiencing restorative yoga is like stepping into a tranquil oasis in the midst of daily chaos. As you settle into the softness of your mat, a wave of calm washes over you, inviting you to release tension and surrender to the present moment. The gentle, supported postures allow your body to effortlessly unwind, while deep breathing and mindful awareness guide you to the depths of relaxation. As time passes, layers of stress melt away, replaced by a profound sense of restoration and renewal. In this serene space, you are free to nurture your physical, mental, and emotional well-being, embracing the peace and stillness that resides within you.

I know I find it tricky sometimes to make a class. I don’t want to drive back into town, I’m so tired, I can’t be bothered…. BUT when I commit! Wowzers. Geez I love it. Grieve & Restore ~ The Healing Power of Yoga

Releasing grief through breath, sound, and movement can be a profoundly healing experience.
Yoga, an ancient practice that unites mind, body, and spirit, has long been hailed for its transformative benefits. Beyond offering physical strength and flexibility, yoga possesses a remarkable ability to heal and restore our emotional well-being, making it an ideal companion during times of grief and loss.
Grieving is an intensely personal journey, and no two individuals experience it in the same way. It is a profound process that often leaves us feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, and emotionally drained. However, through the practice of yoga, we can find solace, restoration, and a renewed sense of hope.
Yoga provides a safe and sacred space for us to explore our grief and release the emotions that weigh heavy on our hearts. In this stillness, we can witness our pain, honor our loss, and continue the healing journey. We will be gathering together 3 SESSIONS OVER A WEEKEND, to gift ourselves sacred space to grieve and restore.

Reiki is a holistic healing practice that harnesses Universal Life/Love energy to promote physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. As a non-invasive and non-religious practice, Reiki can reawaken your body's natural ability to heal itself. Reiki can illuminate the next step in your life and help remove your physical and metaphysical obstacles. A wonderful modality that can be incorporated alongside conventional medical treatments, Reiki offers an experience that will nurture your mind, body, and soul.
